Extracted blocks go through several industrial stages before reaching the final product, and the technical details and equipment used vary according to the type of raw material and the required specifications.

  1. Sawing and cutting

Raw blocks arrive at marble and granite factories in Egypt, where they are sawn using specialized machines into slabs of the required thicknesses.

Modern equipment helps improve cutting precision, make better use of blocks and reduce waste, contributing to greater production efficiency.

  • Treatment and reinforcement

Depending on the nature of the material and their condition, some slabs may need treatment to fill some natural pores, cracks and voids.

Epoxy is used in some treatment processes, and the back of some slabs can be reinforced with fiberglass mesh to increase cohesion and reduce the risk of breaking apart during handling and installation.

  •  Calibration and grinding

Calibration is carried out to adjust slab thickness and achieve greater uniformity, then the slabs go through grinding stages using tools of different grit levels.

This stage aims to achieve a flat, smooth surface in preparation for polishing.

  •  Polishing

Polishing brings out the natural colors and veins of marble and granite and gives the surface the required level of shine according to the nature of the product and its end use.

  •  Cutting and final shaping

After treatment and polishing, the slabs are cut to the sizes required for projects.

Some marble and granite factories in Egypt use modern technologies such as CNC machines and Waterjet technology to produce precise designs and geometric and decorative shapes, according to the nature of the product and the required specifications.

  •  Quality inspection and packaging

Finished products are inspected to ensure that the dimensions, finish level and overall appearance meet the required specifications, then they are packed appropriately to protect them during transport, storage and shipping.
